About Delimiter

State of the Network

This year we’ve been aggressively expanding our network for better national connectivity and to increase our service footprint. In North America, we now have active services in 15 US states and 3 Canadian provinces.

This summer we will complete the expansion, at which point we will be able to deliver on-net capacity between any of our US, Canadian, European or Asian datacentres. For customers needing dedicated capacity between their clusters or need to connect to their existing facilities this is a simple procedure and unique to Delimiter.

Our New York facility is now connected back to London and Amsterdam and in turn to LINX and AmsIX. This is providing a direct 75ms route from many European networks straight into ours.

In addition, we’ve been connecting to many of the regional Internet exchanges to bolster our direct connectivity. We peer with all of the major content networks, most of the regional eyeball networks. By the end of summer most major networks will be directly peered.

How does this benefit you?

Minimal latency – Major networks like Google, Facebook, Akamai, Twitter, Apple and so on are directly peered. Many of our customers are running apps which need low latency to these networks – we’re less than 1ms from each of them.

If you are delivering content, being that close to the critical networks is a must. Losing milliseconds due to poor backhaul or unpredictable transit is far from optimal.

Data Centres

As one of our sister companies has now moved to their own facility in Atlanta, we’ve taken over their 10,000 SQF in downtown Atlanta. This allows us to deploy services at both our Atlanta facilities now to provide physical diversity.

Charlotte is now ready for early bird orders, later in this mail you’ll find some of our offers. Charlotte is directly connected to Atlanta and Herndon as well as local transit in Charlotte and Raleigh. If you’re in the Carolinas then please let us know which network your DSL or broadband service is on so we can build out connectivity to your provider.

Dallas is also now ready for early bird orders – there are a few offers further down in this email. This year Dallas will become a major hub for us, our parent company has acquired a 100,000 SQF datacentre which will allow us to drive down the prices both for hosting as well as colocation.

Los Angeles expansion is completed and we’ve restocked our systems. This time we have limited orders to five systems per customer. Previously when we’ve restocked our systems have gone out of stock in minutes due to reseller hoarding. We love our resellers but we need to spread the love around to all our customers.

You have the choice now of Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Los Angeles, New Jersey (Newport), New York (NYC) – same servers – same platform – same network!

We’re pushing hard on the East Coast right now, but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten you on the West Coast.

We are expanding our footprint in Santa Clara, Portland and Seattle but we are 2-3 month away from being able to announce a ready for service date.

Network Services
May will be a business month for network changes. We will be adding a Managed Firewall service as well as DDOS mitigation and filtering to all our facilities. Additionally we will start offering unmetered 100Mbps, 1Gbps and 10Gbps servers / bandwidth pools.

As these services become available we will make individual announcements.

We’ve taken the decision to enter the North Carolina market and taken over part of our parent company’s datacentre in downtown Charlotte.

We’re readying the space this month and shipping servers to site ready to be live mid May.

High Availability Multi-site in NYC, Jersey City and Atlanta

Delimiter High Availability in Jersey City

Now that New Jersey is live, we’re able to offer multi-site high availability in NYC/Jersey City; as well as our two datacentres in Atlanta for customers that need HA in South.

We’re preparing a secondary product for HA between NY/NJ and Atlanta, we’re increasing capacity between the two sites to allow for real time, private connectivity between the sites.

What is High Availability?

Delimiter’s High Availability solutions enable you to setup multi-site replication over a private network between your servers. This ensures you have predictable latency, security (as traffic is not run over the internet) and guaranteed capacity.

Locations

  • Atlanta – Two datacentres
    • Atlanta Downtown
    • Atlanta North
  • New York City
  • Jersey City

Connectivity

Diversely routed dark fibres interconnect New York City and Jersey City. We are able to provide lit or dark connectivity between the facilities. Both facilities are connected to 60 Hudson Street, 325 Hudson Street, 32 Avenue of the Americas and 111 8th Avenue.

Atlanta Downtown and Atlanta North are also connected by diversely routed dark fibre and both connect to 56 Marietta Street for additional connectivity.

Delimiter maintains capacity between its Atlanta Downtown and New York City datacentres, this capacity is being increased to enable geographically distinct high availability services.

Questions?

If you have any HA projects that could benefit from this, please reach out and discuss them with us – [email protected]

Atlanta Dedicated Server is great for Europe and US traffic

‘Why choose an Atlanta dedicated server over other cities like New York or Los Angeles?’

Choosing an Atlanta Dedicated Server is a great choice for European and US traffic. Atlanta is a fantastically well connected city, it’s 10-20ms from almost all East coast cities, 90-100ms from most of Europe and 40-50ms from Los Angeles.

Atlanta also boasts a rich choice of IP transit and dark fibre providers allowing operators to cost effectively interconnect to other network as well as interlink sites outside of Georgia.

Atlanta Dedicated ServerDelimiter is located in the 2nd most connected building in Atlanta and directly connected to the 1st most connected building. This gives us access to almost every major carrier in the US, all of the major content networks as well all the national broadband providers.

Delimiter is expanding with the construction of its new 35,000 SQF datacentre in northern Atlanta. This new facility is being constructed for N+1 redundancy in every part of the design. The new site will be live in 2017.

Network Connectivity

We are already directly connected to our New York, New Jersey and Dallas datacentres and our national network footprint increases each month – enabling customers to build national private networks for resilience or secure data transfer between sites.

Low cost of operation

Atlanta, located in the state of Georgia, sets itself apart from other tier 1 cities. Utilities, real estate and operating burden are minimal which allow us to offer the lowest possible prices nationally out of our Atlanta facility.
